Dubsado vs Monday: Definitive Comparison (2023) - Anywhere

Dubsado vs Monday vs Anywhere: Definitive Comparison (2023)

Dubsado and Monday are two of the most popular tools in the customer relationship and project management spaces respectively.

After testing both, it’s clear that they each serve a different audience and use case. That’s why I included Anywhere in this comparison — it’s a more suitable tool for service-based solopreneurs, agencies, and small businesses who need more than the basic task management features of Dubsado and don’t necessarily need the overwhelming project management features of Monday.

First, I compared all three tools by three main use cases:

  1. Project Management
  2. Customer Relationship Management
  3. Workflow Automation

Along with that, I also explored supporting features like collaboration & communication, templates, and integrations.

Read on to find which of the three - Dubsado vs Monday vs Anywhere - is the right option for you.

What is Dubsado?

“Supercharge your business”

Dubsado was founded in 2016 by husband and wife, Jake and Becca Berg. Their goal was to build an efficient paperless system to manage the operations of Becca’s photography business.

Since then, Dubsado built a system to seamlessly manage repetitive business admin tasks. All you need to do is set up the system to work for you while you sleep. Your clients get a timely and personalized onboarding, management, and offboarding experience while you get to manage all your business records including proposals, contracts, and invoices in one place. Additionally, you can schedule appointments right in Dubsado and also accept automatic payments. Its dashboard is quite beneficial for lead management, tracking customer journeys, and your financial goals.

While Dubsado lacks core project management features, its feature set makes it ideal for creative entrepreneurs and businesses who want a general business management tool to enhance their client experience while systemizing their business operations.

What is Monday?

"Empowering teams"

Monday.com (formerly daPulse) was co-founded in 2012 by Eran Zinman and Roy Mann (a former Wix executive) because Mann needed an efficient way to supervise and manage staff and their projects.

This led to Monday.com becoming a powerful project management tool for large teams spread across different departments. It offers great customization through multiple column types, project views, and widgets for creating highly visual dashboards. It also offers many templates, a ton of integrations, and task automation samples for greater control and flexibility. Monday’s automations link directly with its integrations, making it even more powerful.

With its fixed tier-based pricing, Monday is best suited for enterprises with large cross-functional teams who need to frequently collaborate on broad and complex projects, while also managing the workload of their individual departments.

What is Anywhere?

"Make your clients happy"

Supreet Tare and Atul Koshta co-founded Anywhere in 2018 with one goal in mind: to help agency owners like Supreet stay on top of projects, maintain client communication, and track their satisfaction levels.

Out of all three tools, it has the most intuitive interface making it super easy to get started. Anywhere is the perfect blend of project and client management. It offers all the essential project management tools including multiple column types, project views, customizable dashboards, templates, and integrations. Additionally, it’s equipped with a zero-login client portal — an interface to chat, update and keep track of feedback from clients throughout all projects.

Anywhere is best for service-based solopreneurs, agencies, and small businesses who need a customer-centric project management tool to stay organized while keeping their clients satisfied.

Dubsado vs Monday vs Anywhere: Project Management
Monday and Anywhere are built for advanced project management, while Dubsado can only handle the basics.
Dubsado Monday Anywhere

Anywhere is the most modern and intuitive, Monday is a close second, and Dubsado feels slightly dated and overly complex.

As a new user, it’s difficult to find your way around Dubsado. The interface takes some getting used to, and as a result, it has a steep learning curve.

Meanwhile, Monday has a modern and intuitive design. The left-pane navigation makes it easy to get around to other sections, and the top-pane navigation gives you everything you need to track and manage your project.

Anywhere looks similar to Monday. The difference is that Anywhere offers fewer features, making it much easier to get up and running.

Monday’s project board has the most extensive feature set, followed closely by Anywhere, while Dubsado only scratches the surface.

Dubsado’s feature set makes it a very basic task management system. You can either create stand-alone tasks or organize them on a Kanban-style board. For each task you create, you can only do the following:

  • Link it to a project
  • Assign to a team member
  • Add a due date
  • Attach files
  • Add comments

One downside of using the tasks feature to manage your projects is that you receive no notifications when people make changes to the tasks such as add comments or attach files.

If project management is at the core of what you do, Dubsado will not meet your expectations.

Anywhere has all the core features and functionalities of a project management tool:

  • Core column types
  • Core project views
  • Filter options
  • Dynamic task board (for each team member)

For each task, you can add sub-tasks and set task dependencies.

Unlike Monday, Anywhere makes it remarkably simple to set recurring tasks and task reminders.

Similar to Anywhere, Monday also has filter options and a dynamic task board available to each team member. You can also add sub-tasks and set task dependencies.

Monday also has the column types and project views, which are available in Anywhere, and much more.

Monday and Anywhere provide project overviews on their dashboards, Dubsado's dashboard gives a snapshot of business financials.

Unlike Monday and Anywhere, Dubsado’s dashboard gives you a bird’s eye view of your business financials.

You can view your tasks on the dashboard in addition to the following:

  • Earnings for the year
  • Pending invoices
  • Revenue trends from the previous month
  • Income, Expenses and Profit

Monday’s dashboard gives you a ton of widget options to fully customize your dashboard from scratch. Additionally, you can connect multiple boards to your dashboard to get an overview of some or all your projects in one space.

Anywhere’s dedicated dashboard environment captures data from all your projects in a single space. It offers 3 specialized dashboards:

  • The project dashboards give a top-down overview of all active projects for Project Managers.
  • The client dashboards aggregate client sentiments and their current & historical CSAT scores to help account managers keep track of client satisfaction.
  • The custom dashboards are for higher-ups, Directors, VPs, or CEOs to help them get an overall view of critical details from multiple projects.

Winner: Monday. It has the most options for column types and project views. It also includes more widget options to fully customize your dashboard.

Dubsado vs Monday vs Anywhere: Customer Relationship Management
Dubsado is built for managing the customer journey, Anywhere is designed with a customer-first approach, and Monday can be customized to handle customer relationships.
Dubsado Monday Anywhere

Monday’s project board can be customized to internally manage customer relationships.

Monday is not designed to support client management. However, the CRM templates work just as well to get the job done.

Anywhere’s project board is designed to manage customer relationships internally and externally.

Similar to Monday, Anywhere’s project boards can be customized to manage customer relationships. Though it doesn’t have as many CRM templates, it offers enough to help you start managing customer records right away. Alternatively, you can modify any table to create your own internal CRM templates.

Unlike Monday, Anywhere has a dedicated space to keep track of all your clients: the client portal. This makes it easier to include them in upcoming projects and monitor their feedback and satisfaction levels under the project dashboard.

Dubsado is built to manage customer relationships and enhance the client onboarding and offboarding experience.

Similar to Anywhere, Dubsado has an address book to keep track of all clients you’ve worked with and their corresponding projects.

Unlike Monday and Anywhere, Dubsado has a unique feature set that streamlines the client onboarding and offboarding processes for you and your client:

  • Appointment scheduling
  • Payment processing
  • Designing and managing proposals, contracts, and invoices

Winner: Dubsado. In addition to client management, it’s the only tool that makes the client onboarding and offboarding processes smooth and enjoyable for you and your clients.

Dubsado vs Monday vs Anywhere: Workflow Automation
Monday’s and Anywhere’s workflow automations are centered around task management, while Dubsado’s are centered around the client experience.
Dubsado Monday Anywhere

Using the automation features in all three tools requires no code.

Dubsado’s workflow automation is designed to enhance client onboarding and offboarding.

Once you've mapped out your client onboarding and offboarding process, Dubsado's workflow can bring it to life.

Some of the triggers you can set include:

  • Submission of form
  • Status changes
  • Dates

These triggers can then spark actions like:

  • Send custom welcome, thank you, and follow-up emails
  • Send proposals, contracts, and invoices via email
  • Change project statuses
  • Schedule appointments
  • Accept payments
  • Create tasks

Anywhere’s workflow automation covers the essentials of task management.

Unlike Dubsado, Anywhere's workflow automation is centered around streamlining internal task management. With Work OS you can manage and automate workflows in every department: engineering, sales, marketing, and HR.

It works on a simple “if this then that” principle (shown in the image below), that lets you quickly set up powerful automations. You can set a number of triggers like:

  • Due date arrived,
  • New task added,
  • Priority change,
  • Status change,
  • Date change,
  • Item created,
  • Etc.

And activate actions such as:

  • Send notifications,
  • Move between groups,
  • Change status/assignees,
  • Create/delete/move tasks.

Anywhere also comes with 22 pre-built automations to help you get started.

Monday’s workflow automation comes with the bells and whistles for task management.

Monday, similar to Anywhere, has task-based automations.

However, Monday has more pre-made automation samples compared to Anywhere, making it easier for new users to get started with automation.

Additionally, Monday allows for more automation flexibility with external apps.

Winner: Monday. It offers higher customization and greater flexibility for managing projects with its workflow automation toolkit.

Dubsado vs Monday vs Anywhere: Collaboration & Communication
Dubsado is designed for client engagement, Monday is designed for team engagement, and Anywhere gives you the best of both worlds.
Dubsado Monday Anywhere

Dubsado’s feature set makes it best for client management.

Team members can collaborate by adding comments and attaching files to each task.

Users can communicate with their clients via email and a client portal. You can send emails from Dubsado to your clients. Not only do your clients receive your emails in their inboxes, they can also view all project-related emails via their client portal.

Monday’s feature set makes it best for managing team collaboration and communication.

Monday has a task-based chat feature that allows team members to drop updates (aka comments) and attach files to specific tasks.

You can invite guests to collaborate on a board via email. Monday expands its communication functionality through integration with Zoom, Slack, and Microsoft Teams.

Anywhere has the most extensive feature set to seamlessly manage both team collaboration and client communication.

Similar to Monday, Anywhere allows you to invite guests to collaborate on a board.

Anywhere’s team-based chat is divided into 4 main sections:

  • Comments: Add task-specific comments.
  • Decisions: Mark important comments as decisions to be taken note of or implemented.
  • Blockers: Mark comments as blockers to quickly handle bottlenecks that may arise.
  • Files: Add files relevant to the task.

Anywhere has a Loom feature, to instantly record and share Loom videos with your team directly in the chat section.

Anywhere also has a main chat section that’s best for project-based discussions which don’t necessarily fit under any specific task. You can choose to include clients in specific aspects of the discussion by making the chat public and then switching it back to private to exclude them from the chat.

The update section makes it easy to share regular progress updates with clients, accessible via their client portal. This eliminates scattered updates shared via email, phone, and other channels, and keeps all updates organized in one space. You can customize your updates section with text blocks and widgets, detailing tasks at different stages of completion.

Winner: Anywhere. It has the most extensive feature set with task-based and project-based communication, and an update section to keep your clients in the loop.

Dubsado vs Monday vs Anywhere: Templates
Anywhere has simple project management templates, Monday’s are more detailed, and Dubsado’s focused on business management.
Dubsado Monday Anywhere

Anywhere’s templates make it very easy to get started.

Anywhere has 100+ project management templates across various categories including Remote Work, Marketing, HR, Media Production, and Time Tracking. These templates are filled with sample data and necessary column types, making it extremely easy to customize them to your needs.

Monday has the most elaborate templates for various use cases.

Similar to Anywhere, Monday has 100+ templates for various use cases. The template center’s layout is visually thought out and has a search bar, making it easy to navigate.

Unlike Anywhere, these templates come in packs and include automation. While this can be helpful, it might seem confusing at first. You may need to spend some time understanding the pre-included automation and how it makes the pack of templates work together.

Dubsado’s templates are tailored to support business operations.

Dubsado’s unique template set works best for handling repetitive admin tasks. The templates include basic service packages, questionnaires, emails, proposals, contracts, invoices, lead capture forms, and payment plans

Winner: Monday. Its template center has the most templates and is the easiest to navigate thanks to its highly visual layout and search bar.

Dubsado vs Monday vs Anywhere: Integrations
Dubsado and Anywhere have very few native integrations, Monday offers a wide range of options.
Dubsado Monday Anywhere

All three tools integrate with Zapier.

Dubsado’s integrations are focused on business management.

Dubsado’s business management integrations fall under 4 categories:

  • Email: Connect to Gmail and Outlook.
  • Scheduling: Connect to Calendars such as iCloud, Office 365, and Google Calendar, and video conferencing options such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet.
  • Accounting: Connect to Quickbooks and Xero.

Anywhere covers the basics of project management.

Anywhere’s integrations fall under 2 main categories that cover the essentials of project management:

  • Calendars: Connect to Microsoft and Google Calendar.
  • Cloud storage: Connect to OneDrive, Dropbox, and Google Drive.

And it also offers Zapier integrations that make it extremely versatile and compatible with any tech stack.

Monday has the most integrations.

Monday has 50+ integrations including popular options such as Gmail, Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Slack, and Zoom.

Winner: Monday. It has the most integrations, making it easy to integrate with your existing tech stack.

Dubsado vs Monday vs Anywhere: Pricing
Dubsado is the best budget option, Monday’s plans are inflexible, and Anywhere has the best value for money.
Dubsado Monday Anywhere

Monday has a limited free plan, Anywhere offers a 7-day trial and Dubsado has an unlimited free trial.

Monday’s free plan only allows for 2 users, a total of 1000 rows across all project boards, and up to 500MB of file storage. Anywhere offers a free 14-day trial across all paid plans, with no credit card required. Dubsado’s free trial gives you access to their premier plan, with no time limit, and a client limit of up to 3

Anywhere’s paid plans have the lowest entry points and they offer the best annual discounts, Dubsado follows closely, while Monday is expensive for beginners. Anywhere's Start plan costs only $9.99 a month for 10 users.

Dubsado has only two pricing plans. Each plan allows for a maximum of 3 users by default and you can buy more. For 4-10 users, you pay an additional fixed fee of $25/month. For 11-20 users, you pay an extra $45/month and for 20-30 users, you pay an extra $60/month.

Dubsado is more affordable than Monday and Anywhere but it lacks features.

It’s budget-friendly, however, it lacks core project management functionality. This means you’ll need another dedicated project management tool if project management is at the core of what you do.

Meanwhile, Monday and Anywhere have project management functionality at their cores.

Monday has more project management features than Anywhere and is better for large, cross-functional teams. But it’s much more expensive than Anywhere with a higher barrier to entry: licenses can only be purchased in tiers of 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, and 50 seats. This means if you’re an individual user, you’ll have to go with 3 seats and if you are a team of 32, you have to purchase a plan with 40 seats.

Finally, Anywhere is packed with features, more flexible, and more affordable for teams. It lets you buy as many licenses as you need, it’s equipped with all the necessary project management features, and it’s designed to help you keep clients in the loop during ongoing projects, which is especially useful for service-based businesses such as agencies.

Anywhere’s pricing is more team-friendly than Monday’s.

All Monday’s features are unlocked on their Pro plan. For Anywhere, all features are unlocked on their Grow Plan. When we compare both plans, Anywhere is best for individuals getting started and the pricing is scalable for teams as well.

Winner: Anywhere wins. Although Dubsado costs less it lacks core project management features. For $16.99/month, Anywhere gives full access to all its features, while being less expensive than Monday. If you opt for an yearly plan, the cost comes down to $12.99/user/mo.
